Thixendale-based wildlife artist Robert E Fuller has featured on BBC’s popular programme Winterwatch after showing how he captured great images of hawfinches.
The artist, who is also an outstanding photographer, revealed the pictures and film he captured from a hide constructed at The Yorkshire Arboretum.
A rare invasion of hawfinches from Eastern Europe to Yorkshire had bird watchers all of a ‘twitter’ this winter and more than 100 were spotted at the Castle Howard site.
Mr Fuller said: “Hawfinches are so rare and so shy very few people have been able to get close enough to photograph them. Readers can see my photos at www.robertefuller.com/diary.”
