Pocklington-based Wolds Photographic Society (WPS) triumphed in the Yorkshire Coastal Photographic Group’s (YCPG) annual Norman Trophy.
The YCPG is a group of seven camera clubs from around East Yorkshire representing some of the best photographers in the region.
This year’s set subject was ‘Architecture’ and WPS completed an outstanding victory gaining 173 points, well out of reach of second place Beverley with 158 points.
The competition was judge by Nigel Walker, a well-known Beverley photographer and studio owner. Each club had to present five prints and five projected images.
Chairman Derek Knight said he was proud of the club’s achievements and the improvement in photographic skills shown by all members.
Wolds Photographic Society meets each Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Arts Centre from September to April and has monthly outings during the summer.
All photographers from beginner to expert are assured of a warm welcome.
