A luxury afternoon tea in the grounds of Everingham Hall attracted a big turnout and helped raise about £5,000 for charity.

Guests could choose from a selection of fine foods and a range of desserts, as well as cocktails and mocktails from the bar.

There was live music to entertain visitors and Beverley jeweller Guest and Philips provided prizes for a raffle.

In addition, there was a tug of war competition and games of croquet and cornhole toss.

The event was held in aid of the Daisy Appeal, which funds research and equipment for Castle Hill Hospital, in Cottingham.

Organiser Sophie Guest said: “It was a fantastic day with such amazing support from everyone and generous donations that have helped us raised about £5,000.

“The sun shone for us and everyone enjoyed the terrace area outside the sperry tent whilst listening to the live music and sipping on eclectic gin cocktails. Everyone got into the swing of things for a very British quintessential afternoon of G&Tea and lawn games.

“The raffle and auction went down a storm and I have to thank everyone who helped and donated to make it a huge success, there is talk of making it an annual event and I can’t wipe the smile off my face.”
