More than £1,600 was raised at Pocklington Lions Club’s second annual Charity Golf Day last week.
The event, on Wednesday 14 August, was held in memory of former club president Ian Steel, who died in a tragic boating accident last year.
Players competed for the Ian Steel Memorial Trophy and the funds raised from the event will be split between Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Riding for the Disabled, Sue Ryder and the MS Society.
Graham Gillyon, a member of the club, said: “The event was very successful and the club raised over £1600 with 64 competition players and 84 attending the celebration and presentation eve dinner.”
The winners of the competition were Andrew Kendal, Steve Wilson, Tim Murdoch and Chris Gowthorpe from Yara UK Limited.
