A teenager from Pocklington had an experience of a lifetime when he joined fashion icon Vivienne Westwood on a voyage to the Arctic to view the effects of global warming.
George Jibson, of The Mile, was invited by Vivienne to accompany her and a film crew on a trip to the Arctic on board Greenpeace ship, The Esperenza.
The trip was part of a documentary film being made about Vivienne’s life, a big part of which is environmental campaigning. George, a Pocklington School lower sixth former, was asked to go along to help raise awareness and to view for himself the impact of global warming on the Arctic, through the eyes of a young person.
