Staff at Burnby Hall Gardens are getting ready to welcome Father Christmas when he comes to visit them for a day next month.
For the third year in succession, Pocklington’s iconic Gardens are running a special Santa Sunday event. This time, however, the event, on 7 December, is being planned as one for the whole community of Pocklington, with free entry to the Gardens, stalls, crafts, children’s activities and a brass band performing seasonal music during the afternoon.
Peter Rogers, assistant estate manager, said: “We’ve lined up a really special day to welcome Father Christmas and we want to make our event a real community one for the town. We’re especially pleased to welcome the Driffield Silver Band to the Gardens to perform an extra seasonal band concert for us between 1pm and 3pm.” Children can visit Santa in his grotto and receive a present from him for £8 per child. Santa Sunday takes place from 10am to 4pm, with last entry to the Gardens at 3.30pm.
