Celebrations have been held to mark the 25th anniversary of a club formed specifically to raise funds for a care centre in Holme-on-Spalding Moor.

The East Yorkshire Ladies Lunch Club has managed to raise a staggering £33,000 for Holme Hall since 1988 when Juliette Cartwright-Taylor assembled a group of friends for the purpose of raising money at regular monthly lunches held in each other’s houses.

This sum has mostly come from the ladies and their guests at lunches over the years, but others have also generously given lunches, lent venues and equipment for fundraising events.

The club held a celebratory drinks reception last Thursday at North Dalton Manor for its anniversary.

Sarah Jane, regional fundraiser for Sue Ryder, said: “It is wonderful to join with the East Yorkshire Ladies in celebrating 25 years of their incredible support.

“All of the staff and residents at Holme Hall are very appreciative of the steadfast support this group has given over the years.”
