A musical drama group in Pocklington has received a generous donation from a fundraising couple.
Graham Perry, who is a Pocklington town councillor, and his wife June, recently held a raffle, selling hundreds of tickets around Pocklington. They raised £530 for The Wolds Wonders, a group for people with learning disabilities.
The funds will go towards the running costs of the group.
The Wolds Wonders were also presented with a range of dressing-up clothes, including ladies wigs, large ‘fun’ glasses and face masks to use in their shows.
Mr Perry, of Mile End Park, said: “The organisation does a great job on an ongoing basis. Locally we should be very gratefully to them and give them our support.
“The raffle was a great success because of the generosity of the local businesses and traders for the prizes they donated and to those who bought tickets.”
Any further donations to The Wolds Wonders can be made via Mr Perry. Call (01759) 304834.
