A fundraiser in the Pocklington area has been honoured by a national charity.
Sarah Boulton has received a Fundraising Volunteer of the Year award from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for her relentless determination in the fight against heart disease.
Sarah picked up the North of England area winner award during the BHF’s Supporter Conference held at the University of Leeds.
She scooped the accolade for her dedication to the BHF demonstrated in her fantastic fundraising efforts, helping the charity to raise money to fund its life-saving research.
Sarah put her all into this year’s February Wear It Beat It campaign and turned the whole of Pocklington red for the day.
Sarah said: “I am delighted to have been given such a special award as there are so many worthy volunteers who give their time to the BHF.
“I couldn’t have done it without a team effort from all the ladies in the branch. To me it’s always been about getting together as a group, having good fun but also raising money too.
“I have met some amazing people and have lovely memories fundraising for the BHF.
“The BHF are so supportive and there are so many different ways you can get involved. I would encourage anyone to volunteer for the BHF as it is such a rewarding experience.”
Jane Mooney, Fundraising Volunteer Manager, said: “I am delighted that we can recognise Sarah’s commitment to the BHF. She is always at the forefront of all events.”
