A FUELLING station went that extra mile by collecting in hundreds of pounds in loose change.
The Coastways station at Shiptonthorpe were handed a certificate of acknowledgement, having raked in over £372 in the last year for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).
The station, next to the A1079 has had a collection tin at the side of their till for a number of years with hundreds of drivers regularly dropping their loose change in.
Pocklington resident David Hebden, who is also the East Yorkshire Community Fundraiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “YAA depends upon the generosity of the people of Yorkshire to raise the thousands of pounds a day that it needs to keep its two life saving helicopters in the air.
“I am keen to find new volunteers and new locations for collecting tins.”
