New students at East Riding College were welcomed to their course with a day of fun and activities.
The Freshers’ Fairs at the Beverley and Bridlington campuses included street dance, sumo wrestling and a display of birds of prey, as well as informtion from health workers on subjects such as smoking, healthy eating and drugs.
Organisations including Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Yorkshire Ambulance attended to encourage students to volunteer, while universities and armed services attended to give advice on careers.
Enrichment co-ordinator Tracy Underwood said: “The Freshers’ Fairs are a chance for new students to have a bit of fun and get some useful information during their busy first week with us and before their course starts in earnest.
“The feedback we’ve received is that everyone really enjoyed the activities, especially the birds of prey, which are always very popular.”
