Four pubs have made it through to the final of Pocklington Post’s popular ‘Pub of the Year’ competition.

Pocklington pubs The Feathers, on Market Place, and The Station, on The Pavement, and Market Weighton inns the Carpenters Arms, on Southgate, and the Bay Horse Inn, on Market Place, have been nominated by our readers to win the competition.

The Pub of the Year contest was launched in the 30 January edition of the new-style Pocklington Post and since then we have received many nominations for the four pubs.

Nominations were made using entry forms printed in recent copies of the Pocklington Post and via our Twitter and Facebook accounts.

A judging panel will make an unannounced visit to the four finalists to decide which one is the best. The pubs will be judged on the quality and range of ales, the atmosphere and decor, service and clientele mix.
