Firefighters made a splash at a charity car wash in Pocklington.
The car wash, at Pocklington Fire Station, raised £500, which will be split between The Firefighters Charity and a fundraising drive being run by Pocklington duo Amy Henderson and William Brown in aid of the Great Living Orphange in Uganda.
The pair have so far raised £3,256 to help needy youngsters at the orphange. William is a retained firefighter at the station. Mandi Hyde, the station’s watch manager, said: “It was fab, we were very busy, we didn’t stop all the way through. We had great support from local people.”
