Exhibition to mark start of Great War

Sancton Village Hall will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One with an exhibition showing the contribution made by the villagers of Sancton in East Yorkshire 100 years ago.

For more than a year, villagers Anita Liley and Rob Thomson have researched the names of those who appear on Sancton’s Roll of Honour. The results will feature in an exhibition in the village hall. The commemoration starts with a joint service in the village’s All Saints Church at 4pm on Sunday. The exhibition will be open from 5.15pm to 7pm on Sunday. You can also see the exhibition next Monday, from 6.30pm-8pm, next Tuesday, from 10.30am-12.30pm, 8 August, from 6pm-8pm and 9 August, from 3pm-5pm.
