Pocklington’s popular beer and music festival Pocktoberfest is set to go ahead this year, the Post can reveal.
Determined members of Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table are pulling out all the stops to ensure the annual event takes place, despite organisers announcing earlier this year that it had been cancelled due to current building works at the favoured venue, the old railway station.
Rather than give up on this year’s event, the Round Table has been working tirelessly to find a new venue and has managed to secure Pocklington Rugby Club, on Burnby Lane, but only for a one day festival - on 25 October - rather than two days as it has been in recent years. This is due to the club’s sporting and membership commitments.
