A new TSB bank has opened in Market Weighton this week.

The branch, on Market Place, which was previously a Lloyds Bank, was opened last Monday, with former Market Weighton carnival queen Pauline Roberts receiving the honour of cutting the ribbon,

Pauline has worked for Lloyds Banking Group, which owns TSB, for 37 years.

Mayor of Market Weighton, councillor Marian Frith, was also at the official opening.

The branch is one of 631 TSB banks that are being launched across Great Britain with Lloyds Banking Group deciding to create two separate banks- TSB and Lloyds Bank.

Mark Buckle, manager of the new Market Weighton TSB, said: “I am delighted to be a local bank manager for a local bank again.”
