Summer’s arrival will be celebrated in style during a luxury afternoon tea with added G&T in the grounds of Everingham Hall next Saturday (4 June), to raise money for charity.
Guests will be served tea on vintage china, as well as choosing from a selection of fine foods such as smoked salmon, cucumber sandwiches and a range of desserts. Cocktails and mocktails will be available from the bar.
Singer Daisy May Allen and concert pianist Peter Winterton will be performing at the event, as will magician George Hobson, whilst Beverley jeweller Guest and Philips are providing prizes for the raffle. There will also be a tug of war competition and games of croquet and cornhole toss.
The event is being held in aid of the Daisy Appeal, which funds research and equipment for Castle Hill Hospital, in Cottingham.
Sophie Guest, one of the Daisy Appeal’s team of volunteer fundraisers, is organising the afternoon tea, which starts at 2pm. She said: “The grounds of Everingham Hall are the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon of indulgence. Marquee company PapaKåta are providing us with a luxury sperry tent and there will be excellent entertainment and delicious food and drink. It’s going to be lovely and everybody is welcome.”
Ms Guest is hoping lots of people attend and show their support for the Daisy Appeal,
She said: “If the Daisy Appeal is about one thing and one thing only, it’s saving local lives – keeping our loved ones with us longer. It’s about giving faster and more accurate diagnoses to three of the region’s biggest killers – cancer, heart disease, and dementia. With cures still a long way off, early diagnosis still gives us the best chance of survival.”
Tickets are £25 each. For tickets or more information call 01482 461909 or email email@example.com.
