Barrels of fun are being planned for Pocklington’s popular beer and music festival Pocktoberfest next month.
The event will be held on 10 October in a marquee at Pocklington Rugby Club, on Percy Road, once again following last year’s hugely successful festival.
The 12th annual Pocktoberfest will have 20 real ales on offer, plus lagers and ciders for revellers to enjoy.
It will also feature live music from local acts, including the headliners, party band Pink Cadillac, plus Pocklington musician Daisy Allen. In addition there will be a hog roast and other food outlets on site.
Organised by Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table, the festival will be raising funds for local charities.
Greg Frith, vice chairman of Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table, said: “Last year we raised just short of £9,000 for local charities. As always this year, we want to stage a fantastic event for the town again, which we know so many people enjoy. And at the same time we are hoping to better that this year by increasing numbers and sponsorship. If any local businesses are interested in promoting themselves at the beer festival, there are plenty of opportunities still available, and we would encourage them to get in touch. It’s all for charity.”
Linden Homes are sponsoring the marquee this year, which will be situated next to Pocklington Rugby Club’s clubhouse. The festival will take place from 12noon-10pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance, £12 on the door, and are on sale at RM English Pet Supplies, on Market Street, Pocklington.
