Trombonist Isaac Bousfield has once again gained a place in the National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain.
This year the Pocklington Prep School Year 6 pupil will play in the Under 12’s Orchestra which consists of approximately 100 children. Each year only four Leverhulme Scholarships are awarded to players who performed outstandingly at their audition. Isaac was awarded a scholarship last year and has received a scholarship once again this year, which is rare.
Isaac is playing a solo at the scholarship ceremony at The Royal College Of Music in February and will attend monthly regional orchestra rehearsals and two residential courses in Dorset, one at Easter and one during the summer holidays.
In addition to this, Isaac has also been invited to play at the Royal Festival Hall in February along with ex-members of the first ever National Children’s Orchestra for a memorial service in honour of the NCO’s founder.
These are busy and exciting times for Isaac.
