Students have visited Pocklington Arts Centre to look at the venue’s refurbishment and to get first-hand experience of transforming a Grade II listed building.
The students are from Bishop Burton College, near Beverley. Further visits are scheduled to take place before the work is completed in March.
Venue manager Janet Farmer said: “The students were told the history of the building and given a full tour of the site which was followed by a question and answer session with Hobson Porter [appointed contractors] and Pocklington Arts Centre staff. It was a fascinating insight for them to see a working construction site and they intend to come back in the coming months to see the progress. We hope to work with the college on various projects throughout 2016.”
