After months of planning, the seven Year 10 expedition groups from Woldgate College were let loose in the Yorkshire Wolds to complete a two day practice expedition.
The groups started day one in Kilnwick and attempted to use their finely-tuned navigational skills to find their way to their campsite in Garton on the Wolds.
Without too many wrong turns, all groups managed the 20km journey, set up camp and rewarded themselves with a delicious trangia-cooked meal.
Looking fresh-faced and raring to go in the morning, the groups set off on their final 12km stretch to finish the expedition in Huggate.
A massive congratulations to the groups, as for some of them this was their first experience of a fairly lengthy walking expedition and of overnight camping.
Many thanks to the members of staff who helped out during the weekend, giving up their time to make sure we did not lose any pupils and giving much needed motivation along the way.
