Children at Melbourne Community Primary School turned into mini lifesavers when they received basic first aid training.
Clare Adrian, from Essential First Aid Services, paid a visit to the school recently,
Children aged from 3-11 attended a two-hour session and spent the day learning what to do in an emergency. They learned about ringing 999 and what to say, how to stop bleeding and how to recognise household items that may be poisonous. The older children even learned some basic resuscitation techniques.
A spokesperson for the school said: “They were all very well behaved and who knows maybe this has started a future career in medicine for some of our pupils.”
