The Market Weighton School held a ‘book swap’ for World Book Day, where students brought in a non-fiction book to swap.
Reading is also about listening and understanding. Through hearing stories, children are exposed to a rich and wide vocabulary. This helps them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen.
To promote this, Year 7 had a onesie story session in the school library and enjoyed listening to books read by student support administrator Claire McCall and learning mentor Mamta Joshi.
