David Wilson Homes presented cuddly toy dogs to pupils at a local school after encouraging children to let their imaginations run wild and write their very own short stories.

Bishop Wilton Primary School pupils were asked to write and illustrate their own short story entitled ‘Wilson the dog’s big adventure’.

The story writing activity, inspired by World Book Day, was designed to encourage the children to let their minds run free, taking Wilson the dog on whatever adventure they liked.

Sarah McCarthy, teacher at Bishop Wilton, said: “We were delighted when David Wilson Homes asked if we would like to take part in a story writing activity. It was fantastic to see the children’s imaginations sparked by the fun theme, they’re all really proud of their stories, as are we.

“They also loved their cuddly toy dogs; it was such a lovely touch for them to be able to carry on their adventures with Wilson after the story writing was complete.”
