Culture vultures swoop to gallery

VISITORS from out of town flocked to Pocklington recently as the work of a rising artist went on display.

The paintings of Keith Proctor were put up in the Acorn Gallery on Market Place and attracted art fans from across Yorkshire.

On the day, one entire wall in the gallery was given over to a host of images including five original oils and all seven of the limited edition prints from Proctor’s new collection ‘Making Memories.

People had travelled from West Yorkshire and even from the south bank of the Humber to get a glimpse. Some, unable to attend, had even pre-ordered with Mr Proctor signing the pieces for them.

Diane Wass, co-owner of the gallery, said: “In this time of economic pressure, it is good to see people still allowing themselves to come out and have fun.

“We all work so hard and it’s easy to miss out on life’s pleasures.”
