Vandals have set fire to items in a children’s garden at a Pocklington school.

Intruders accessed Pocklington Infant School’s grounds and set fire to a hedgehog house, damaged garden plants and broke off insect boxes. The incident took place between 5pm on 11 July and 7am on 14 July. Inspector Rob Cocker, of Beverley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is a mindless act of criminal damage to items that the school children took their time to make and were proud to have been a part of. It is disappointing that these vandals don’t realise how badly this affects the local community.” Call Humberside Police on 101 with information, quoting CJ/2056722/2014, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
