East Riding Council has submitted its East Riding Local Plan to the Secretary of State.

The local plan will set planning policy and will help guide investment decisions in the East Riding up to 2029. It establishes how much development will take place in the East Riding and where this will be provided.

The Secretary of State has appointed Mr Simon Berkeley, BA, MA, MRTPI, as the inspector from the Planning Inspectorate to carry out an independent examination of the local plan. He will consider whether the plan meets the requirements of legal compliance, the duty to cooperate and soundness, taking the Proposed Submission representations into consideration.
