A Pocklington business owner has donated his £1,000 prize money to a hospice in memory of his cousin.
Craig Wilby, who owns Willow Waters Fishery, in Burnby Lane, scooped the £1,000 prize when he appeared on Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me on 22 February.
Now he has visited St Leonard’s Hospice who cared for his cousin, Nicola Laverack, in her final weeks.
He met with hospice staff and handed over the huge donation which he had kept in a draw at home since he filmed the programme last year.
Craig said: “My cousin Nicole had breast cancer and died on Boxing Day 2011.
“They looked after her in the final weeks of her life and I wanted to give something back to them.”
