A church in Holme-on-Spalding Moor glowed purple last Saturday to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer.
Charlotte Taylor, 21, who lives in the village, decided to take part in ‘Purple Lights for Hope’, an initiative run by Pancreatic Cancer UK, and light up All Saints’ Church.
Charlotte says the charity is very close to her heart. She explained: “My grandad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 10 years ago, and we saw how awful it was and how quickly it took hold.
“In August 2012, my step mum was diagnosed with it, which obviously broke our hearts because we knew it was a terminal disease. She fought for five months, until she sadly passed away in the January. Ever since, my dad and I have been trying to raise awareness for it, in her memory.”
