Stamford Bridge Community Choir took part in the Forever Young Festival at Grimston Court earlier this month.

The event saw eight hours of music performed by various age groups and made £6,500 which was split equally between Age UK York and St Leonard’s Hospice.

The youngest performer at the festival was six years old while the oldest singer was 91 year old Barbara Tildesley.

A spokeswoman for the choir said: “This is the second time our choir have taken part in this festival and we are thrilled to have played a small part in raising £6,500 for the charities concerned.

“The choir meets on a Wednesday evenings during term time at Stamford Bridge Junior School and can be contacted via its Facebook page (Stamford Bridge Community Choir Information).”
