East Riding Council is appealing for witnesses to an incident of fly-tipping in the countryside.

The incident involved 30 containers of engine oil and chemicals which were dumped in a drainage ditch on Laytham Road, Laytham near Holme on Spalding Moor.

Carl Skelton, the council’s group manager for highways maintenance services, said: “Someone knows where this has come from. The containers are clearly linked to a commercial repair or heavy machinery business.”

Anyone with information should call the council on 01482 393939 or email and all information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
