On Thursday 12 May we held our annual Year 8 Charity Fair in Citizenship, this year raising money for UNICEF. The purpose of this is (apart from raising money for good causes) to develop pupils awareness of what they can do as global citizens and also to help them to develop their enterprise skills.
Over the past few weeks in Citizenship, pupils have been busy planning a range of activities to take place as part of the fair. There were a huge variety of stalls and activities ranging from stalls with tasty treats for sale to sporting competitions. At different points during Citizenship Year 7 and Year 9 pupils came down to the fair and perused the stalls to see what took their fancy and to take part in some of the competitions. The atmosphere was great, helped by the beautiful weather and fun was had by all.
Once all of the counting had been done Year 8 had raised a whopping £586.96. Well done to Year 8 for their amazing effort and a big thank you to all those that supported the fair.
