A charity is inviting people to don a beard and Santa suit and take part in its second charity Santa Dash.

The event, set in the beautiful lake and woodland setting of Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, will see Santas dash, skip, hop or walk a 1.5km or a longer 3km route in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice.

As well as the dash itself, which is held on Sunday 3 December, there will be even more family, festive fun this year with competitions such as ‘Catch the Turkey’ and ‘Present Pick Up’ – both with the chance to win prizes.

There will also be festive games and stalls including a Christmas pudding shy, ‘Where in the world is Father Christmas?’, a canine costume competition, cake stall, raffle and more.

Katie Jackson, events fundraiser, said: “We’ve built on the success of last year’s event to bring even more festive entertainment for everyone. As well as plenty of games and stalls, entry to the Santa Dash includes entry to Allerthorpe Lakeland Park plus the play area, pets corner and cafe.

“We can provide the Santa suit, or you can come along in your own festive outfit – just book your place online! And don’t forget to ask your friends and family to sponsor you and help us raise vital funds for the Hospice.”

Entry costs: Adult plus Santa Suit £10; adult no Santa Suit £8; child (age 5-14) plus Santa Suit £7. Any interested parties can book online at the hospice’s www.stleonardshospice.org.uk website.
