Changes to bus service 18

Bus company East Yorkshire Motor Services has announced changes for buses between Market Weighton, Holme-on-Spalding Moor and York City Centre.

From next Monday the service 18, which also stops at Foggathorpe and Bubwith, will have extra journeys and different times.

Some of the changes include:

• An extra journey from Market Weighton and Holme-on-Spalding Moor to York just after 5pm on weekdays.

• The 4.40pm journey from York will now go all the way through to Holme-on-Spalding Moor.

• The current 6.20pm Monday-Friday bus will leave York 10 minutes later, to enable people who leave work at 6pm to get to the bus stop to catch it.

• There will be minor changes to journey times to help prevent buses being delayed by heavy traffic.

East Yorkshire Motor Services commercial manager Bob Rackley says that the company has been pleased with the success of the service since it launched in April last year. He commented: “People are finding the service very useful, and we’ve had some very positive feedback.”
