A special community event to raise cash to fund a defibrillator in both Low and High Catton will take place later this month.

The free Fun On The Farm garden party will be held this Saturday (23 June) at Merrilthorne Farm, High Catton, from 3pm.

There will be bouncy castle, pony rides, stalls and refreshments in a glorious setting.

The festivities carry on into the evening with a ticketed live music showcase and hog roast, which will start at 6pm.

A spokesperson for the event said: “All funds raised from the event will be used to fund a defibrillator for both High and Low Catton.

“These will be sited in the disused telephone boxes for the benefit of villagers and visitors alike.

“Being so far from the nearest hospital and ambulance services these could, literally, save lives.

“Please support us in our efforts.”

Tickets can be bought in advance from Christine Thompson.

They cost £10 before the day for adults (£14 on the day) and £5 for 12yrs and under (£7 on the day).
