A pottery business in Fangfoss has thanked local sports clubs in Pocklington for their continued support.
For a number of years, Pocklington Running Club and Rugby Club have asked Fangfoss Pottery to make their trophies.
Pocklington Running Club also ordered 850 mugs for their Snake Lane Run, which was ran a fortnight ago around the area.
Gerry Grant, from Fangfoss Pottery, said: “It is quite a challenge to make so many handmade mugs.
“All of them are thrown on the wheel and have emblems stuck on later. They are glazed in dark blue, which has become known as ‘Snake Lane Blue’.
“It is such a big order for us that we have to start in October, making a few a week so that we can ensure they are all ready on time.”
The Pottery also makes trophies for Pocklington Rugby Club’s annual Pocklington Seven’s tournament on Good Friday every year.
Mr Grant added: “Once again we are pleased to make the tankards and plates for their competition.”
“With people being encouraged to buy local we really appreciate the opportunity to supply these clubs with our pottery. The events must provide a good boost to the economy of Pocklington and we hope it will continue for a long time”.
