Breeze cycle leader Val said: “We each had to raise £3,500 for three children’s cancer charities – Children with Cancer Uk, Teenage Cancer Trust and Clive Sargeant Young Lives v Cancer.

“It has been a fun year raising funds but we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of all the Barmby Moor Pink Ladies (and our families) helping with fund raising and on all the bike rides up hill and down dale literally while we trained.

“The girls gave us such an amazing send off on last weeks ride with a lunch at The Fiddle Drill.

“We can’t believe this day has arrived as none of us have been to either country.

“As you are reading this we will be on our first days cycling from Ben Trento Tra Vinh with a ferry crossing over the Mekong River.

“It’s going to be an amazing ride taking in several villages before crossing into Cambodia with the ride finally finishing in Siem Reap and a visit to the Angkor Wat temple.

“Cycling has become our passion so we are grateful to be able to use our hobby to raise funds for these great charities and would like to thank the many family, friends and people of Barmby Moor and Pocklington who sponsored, supported fundraising events by buying tickets and donating goods.”
