HUNDREDS of people turned out for this year’s Pocklington Chrysanthemum Society show.
The event, held at Burnby Hall, included classes for vegetables, cookery, handicrafts, photography, wine making as well as chrysanthemums. There was also a children’s class.
Show secretary Sheila Smith said there were less chrysanthemums this year than in previous years.
She said: “We had a pretty good turn out of people. There were not as many flowers on display.
“I think it is the weather. It’s not been like a normal summer. I think the weather mixes them up.” The show, which was attended by about 300 people, also had a raffle and tombola.
