Marie Curie’s Pocklington Fundraising Group recently hosted a Blooming Great Tea Party which raised more than £1,300.

The event was held in the garden of Pocklington Fundraising Group member, Maureen Dykes, at Laburnum Cottage in Millington.

An amazing number of local people attended the tea party which included a walk round the large garden, refreshments, a tombola and several stalls.

Maureen said: “We’d like to extend our thanks to each and every one of you who turned up to our tea party or made a donation.

“It was great to see the local community turn out in force to support such a worthy cause.

“Thanks to everyone’s generosity, Marie Curie will be able to care for more people suffering a terminal illness.”

The Pocklington Fundraising Group is on the look-out for new people to join their group to help with local fundraising activities and events that they hold throughout the year.

Whatever your skills the group would love to hear from you if this is something you might be interested in and want to hear more about.
