A VILLAGE is hoping the power of flowers will help launch them towards floral glory when the Yorkshire In Bloom committee visit this month.
Stamford Bridge are relative newcomers to the annual event but impressed the judges during their spring campaign when they were praised for their efforts to preserve wildlife and the involvement of youngsters.
However, they were encouraged to involve more local businesses to help produce more colour around the village centre.
A coffee morning and plant sale at the village’s Methodist Church Hall was held recently to help boost the village’s In Bloom coffers which chairman of the committee, Bryan Lawson, hopes will helped lift their chances when the judges return on 20 July.
