Bikers get ready for charity run from seaside to Stockton

Kilham Wednesday Night Bikers will again be helping to organise a ride starting from Dean’s Garden Centre, Seamer Road in Scarborough at 6.30pm for the 6th Bikers Charity Night at Deans Garden Centre, Stockton on the Forest, York on Wednesday 26 June.

The evenet is being staged in aid of York Against Cancer & Yorkshire Cancer Research, so all bikers young and old whatever they ride are invited alonmg to help make it a great night out.

Organiser Fran Cowton said: We will be going for a scenic run on some of North andEast Yorkshire’s best biking roads before arriving at Stockton on the Forest for a bite to eat in the Bothy Coffee Shop.

“There is also a chance to have a look round The Craven Collection, which is a motorcycle museum just across the road from the garden centre, housing over 250 Classic and Vintage motorcycles and is well worth a visit for only £4.  

Fran added: ”Tombola and raffle will be taking place on the evening, including a concours of vintage/classic, modern bike and trophies will be awarded for the best vintage/classic, modern entrants. Hopefully a few trade stands will attend the event.

“As last year, local racing stars of the future will be coming along - namely Luke and Jamie Thackeray, James Cowton, winner at the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix in 2012, and one or two more yet to be announced.

Anyone is interested in having a trade stand just contact Dean’s Garden Centre and a form and information will be available.

“All proceeds collected on the evening will go to Dean’s chosen charity, so come along and have some fun to help this worthy cause.
