Talented bike trials riders showed off their skills in a national event near Pocklington.
The third round of the British Trials Cup was hosted by local farmer Simon Ackerley at Olde Home Farm, in Kilnwick Percy.
In bike trials, riders must show balance and skill on mountain bikes in tackling a series of obstacles without their feet touching the ground. Simon’s son Will Ackerley competed in the senior elite section. Will, who has moved up two classes this year, was the youngest in the class by five years. But he managed to claim first place and now leads the class with two rounds to go, with the next round in Blackpool in six weeks. Before that he travels to Italy for the European Championships in June and then rides for the British team in Germany in early August for the World Youth Games.
