Organisers of the Bielby Music Festival are hoping for a record turnout this weekend to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie in Pocklington.

The festival, which takes place from 3pm this Sunday, will feature performances by The Barton Town Band, The Vintage Belles, Livvy Rooks, Root 64, Work in Progress and Lucky 13.

Bielby’s very own pop band, Pink Cadillac will close the show with a guest appearance from Snake Davis.

There will be a bar and BBQ and organisers are hoping to beat the £2,000 the event raised for charity last year when 350 attended.

Rowena Simpson, who is involved in organising the festival with her brother Ian, said: “It is always a lovely atmosphere, it’s really family friendly and there’s always lots going on.

“We’ve got a great line-up this year and it’s fantastic to have Snake Davis performing, he comes along and supports the festival every year which is fantastic.

“There will be a bar with Wold Top beer, face painting, a tea stall from Marie Curie and lots more going on too, I think it’s Bielby’s biggest event of the year.”

Tickets for the BielbyMusic Festival at Mill Lane, cost £10 for adults and £5 for children and are available by calling either 01759 318314 or 01759 318328.
