A glimpse of Pock’s early days on film

Pocklington and District Local History Group will celebrate its seventh birthday on Thursday 24 April with the showing of what is believed to be the oldest existing film of Pocklington.

Shot in 1932 the film shows a military parade through the town. The group will meet at 7.30pm in the Old Courthouse on George Street.

In addition to the film there will also be a talk, by Geoff Sheasby about Pocklington Town Criers through the Ages and Andrew Sefton, the group’s archivist, will show slides of new material he has received during the last year.

All are welcome to attend. The meeting will also include the group’s AGM.
