Campaigners battling to re-open the a rail line from York to Beverley had “a frank exchange of views” with representatives of local authorities during a meeting about the scheme.
Members of the Minsters’ Rail Campaign, which has been campaigning since 2001 for the line, hosted a meeting in York to garner support from authorities for the East Riding, Hull, York, North Yorkshire and Ryedale were all represented. A representative for Network Rail also attended.
Minsters’ Rail Campaign chairman Peter Hemmerman said: ”We had a frank exchange of views after outlining our position and hopes for the future of the rail line through East Yorkshire.
