A display of true British spirit at Flying Man Festival

Flying Man Festival goers and organisers showed true British spirit to ensure the weather did not put a damper on the popular Pocklington event.

The tenth annual Flying Man Festival, from last Friday to Sunday, featured a range of ‘flying-themed’ events, including flying and abseiling teddies, tower ascents, birds of prey, abseiling down All Saints’ Church tower and a dare-devil zip wire.

A Battle of Britain spitfire flypast and a hot air balloon display had to be cancelled because of the bad weather.

However, there was a spectacular air show hosted by The Real Aeroplane Company from Breighton.

Other attractions included art and local history exhibitions, a Flying Man Quiz, a model of Pocklington airfield, a choir concert at Pocklington Arts Centre and more.
