There was a huge turnout at the meeting to discuss the loss of the 18 and 18A EYMS services.

Howdenshire Ward Councillor Victoria Aitken said residents are continuing to fight for a bus service connecting four parishes (Holme on Spalding Moor, Foggathorpe, Ellerton and Bubwith).

The recent meeting to discuss the loss of the EYMS 18 and 18A services saw more than 350 people attend with the whole community represented.

The councillor said: “A major concern to me is that the doctors surgery’s at Bubwith and HOSM have merged and patients are often asked to travel between the two and need a bus service to attend.

“If the 46 Market Weighton service is diverted into HOSM and back out onto the A1079, which is what East Yorkshire Motors are suggesting, then no public transport will connect Bubwith, Foggathorpe and Ellerton with the rest of the Ward of Howdenshire.”
