East Riding Council is about to start work on a £120,000 maintenance scheme at Francis Scaife Sports Centre in Pocklington, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The pool at the centre will close on Monday (27 April) and is scheduled to reopen on 26 May. The work will also include improvements to the changing facilities, reception area (including better lighting), and the function room.
During the closure. alternative swimming facilities will be available at East Riding Leisure Beverley, Goole, Bridlington and Driffield.
During the pool closure, the rest of the centre will be open as normal, although there may be some occasional changes to the normal programme.
An East Riding Council spokesperson commented: “This investment at Francis Scaife Sports Centre is the latest in a long line of major improvements to leisure centres across the area.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the closure.”
