PRODUCE and a pint was the order of the day as a show was held at a Market Weighton club.
The Royal British Legion had their annual show at the town’s social club on Southgate, which helped raise over £1,000 for the cause.
Several categories of vegetables and cakes are created and people are encouraged to bring along their efforts to be judged, with prizes and trophies given out for those deemed the best.
This year, the local schools were also approached with youngsters submitting paintings which were also judged.
Legion member Jo Murray was tasked to help revive the show a few years ago and since then it has continued to grow.
He said: “It had more or less faded out but it’s been getting better and this year’s show was the best we have had.
“The exhibits were really very good and we had quite a lot of people come along on the afternoon.
“It’s become quite a social event and we’ll certainly be doing it again next year.
“We’d like to thank all the exhibitors and all the local business who supported it.”
