The Beverley-based developer invited Market Weighton Town Mayor, Cllr Peter Hemmerman, and his deputy, Cllr Jayne Smith, to mark the start of the Cavendish Meadows development.

Mr Hemmerman said: “It has been refreshing to work with Foxglove Homes. I believe their initial careful consideration of the town’s housing requirements will make a real difference both to local people and to those looking to live here in the future.

“New-build bungalows are a rarity and with accessible homes in short supply generally, it’s great to see a high proportion of the new homes dedicated to this as a result of Foxglove Homes asking, listening and responding to what we asked for to benefit the town.”

Tom Young, Foxglove Homes director, said: “We worked closely with the town council to ensure we could create a bespoke development that would be welcomed by the local community and one outcome of this was the inclusion of contemporary bungalows in our development.

“Cavendish Meadows presents a real shift from national housebuilders and their uniform approach to the creation of the type of new homes that they want to build.

“We strive to create stylish homes with personality but that also reflect the housing needs of the communities that we work within.

“We are extremely excited with work now underway in line with social distancing safety guidelines.”
